"Creatives with Aloha" featuring Katherine Schwingel Photography
Meet Katherine Schwingel. Cali girl. Leftie. Brand Photographer. Product Stylist. Interior Designer. Sushi lover. Big smiler. Founder of Katherine Schwingel Photography aka @kathlady in gorgeous Orange County, California.
Katherine works with creative entrepreneurs to capture the story behind their businesses, to help showcase their services and products, and to aid in the development of their brand images!
I met Katherine through the Social Curator Community, and although all our work together has been virtual and remote, I still sense her amazing energy and presence! I can hear her smiling and feel her support across the miles.
Katherine is a creative working with creatives, and there is no better formula for amazing results. Like many, it took immense courage, financial risk, and gumption to start her own business. But, she did! And I’m so glad she did too.
Katherine says, “her work strives to tell your story truthfully, beautifully, and simply.” And every business is always in need of great online content!
Q&A with Katherine Schwingel
What's your favorite part about being a professional photographer?
“My favorite part about being a branding photographer, is being able to showcase other people going for their dreams, and learning about so many different industries! I put a lot of emphasis on knowing the business owners knows their brand, and that always teaches me how similar we are as business owners, as well as how vast everyone's knowledge can be. It's like going to school every time I shoot (I'm an education junkie - can you tell?)”
Why is October your favorite month of the year?
“October is all of my favorite things - the turn to chilly air from the hot summer, changing leaves (when I'm visiting places other than CA), and my favorite colors (I truly buy most of my clothing in the fall because I love rust and deep greens, and the textures that come up during the season). I definitely answer 'Fall' on the Buzzfeed quizzes about what season I am!”
What artist or business inspires you?
“I am in awe of what the ladies over at Flodesk have been able to build. It has been a lesson to me to see them find a huge pain point for creative entrepreneurs (a well designed, standard pricing, intuitive email marketing platform) and created what they have. They are so attuned to what their customers and doing and wanting, and improvements are made quickly based on that feedback. LOVE THEM!”
