What did you want to be when you grew up?

“I was divided between being a fashion designer or professional athlete. It wasn’t until my

high school art teacher recommended I look into interior design which jump started that

career path. Following my first year playing varsity volleyball, I was also quick to realize

that volleyball wouldn’t pay the bills.”

What 2020 has taught you about your business?

“2020 has presented many unforeseen challenges, but it has also provided me with an

unexpected opportunity to slow down, day drink wine (I mean breath), and start

thinking about how I want my business to grow in the coming years. I recall a time in

early January when I was literally running on fumes and putting energy into work that

wasn’t adding creativity or interest to my business and in turn affecting my personal life.

I’ve made a pact with myself to intentionally accept work that adds to my business and

doesn’t take away from it. We’ve been given the opportunity to pause and reset and I’m

going to make the most of it.”

Anything you want to say to “Women In Business”?

“If you’re thinking about starting a business then go for it! I can’t imagine my life any

other way. It’s a lot of hard work and can feel overwhelming at times but the hard work

pays off and goes right to your own bottom line. Being your own boss is very

empowering!”
