Q&A with Stephanie Reitsma of Sweetheart Events
What/Who inspired you to start the Sweetheart Brand?
“While I always wanted to own my own company, SHE was created one night while I was driving back to Vancouver with a girlfriend. We were considering names and she blurted out, You're such a sweetheart...I don't remember in what context but the word Sweetheart clicked and all domains were available. I don't think I have shared that story before haha. For the brand, I wanted to create a company that prepared couples for the marriage that waited for them and an experience that was realistic, fun and enjoyable. Planning a wedding doesn't need to be challenging or time consuming. It should be fun!”

What's your favorite part about planning weddings & elopements?
“The marriage that waits for the couple after. Favourite moment of the day is watching the groom as his bride walks down the aisle.”
What's the key to happy customers?
“Fully listening to their wants and needs and delivering what you said you would.”

“LOL BOTH! Is there really one answer?”
Favorite thing to do in Vancouver on a Sunday?
“Haven't done it for a while but walking through Granville Island and grabing a collection of items to go home and cook for dinner. Their market is so charming and the Aqua bus is a fun way to see the city and relax.”
Fun fact about you that you'd like to share:)
“I could go on and on. I have a cat, oldest of six ( I know!) and am now a marriage officiant!”
