"Creatives with Aloha" featuring Shirley Boyack (My Mom!)
As I wrap up my #CreativesWithAloha Project for now, I need to give a big shout out to someone very dear to my heart, my own Mom and one of the most imaginative and creative people I know!
Mother. Nana. Boston Terrier mom. Pony herd keeper. Rancher. School Bus Driver. Creative writer. Grammar police. Gardener. Antique hunter. Sports enthusiast. Patriots biggest fan. Thank you note queen. Thoughtful soul. The BEST popcorn ball maker. Also, has held past titles of Varsity point guard. Soccer Mom. Horseshow Mom. Basketball Coach. Halloween costume designer. etc. etc.
Mom you are so many special things, and everything I am, you helped me to be.
Your creative flair for language, words and writing, helped my logical brain escape into the make-believe and your talent for creating articulate award-winning speeches, witty meaningful names and titles, and ingenious story plot lines is truly one of your finest gifts!
Each year for the last 35+ years, my Mom writes an often hilarious and always entertaining, ‘Boyack News Christmas Letter’ detailing the past years’ highs and lows and sharing love with our friends and family. I’ve also been lucky to have Mom, as my own personal editor since my first language arts project, up until today, when I often receive strict grammar correction texts. For this I could not be more thankful!
Your thoughtfulness does not go unnoticed, your knack for creative writing is greatly encouraged and you will always be my first best friend. Thank you for teaching me the meaning of compassion, passing on your love for horses and dogs, and sharing in my triumphs and my tears.
Love you Mom! And I love working with #CreativesWithAloha just like you!
